Objective To study the space distribution and splashing height of glass rain and provide basis for collecting glass evidence and analyzing crimescene. Method Using the selfmade experimental apparatus, a simulated test of hitting glass with a hammer in the usual manner was carried out and the glass fragments on the ground and the position of the simulated suspect were collected. The count, size and distribution of glass fragment were analyzed statistically and compared with that of theoretical calculation. Results The result showed that, at the distance of 05m apart from the window, the splash height of small glass fragment was about 027m over its origin position on the window, the smaller fragments splashed farther compared with biger fragments. Conclusion The suspects head and the upper part of the body are important aero for glass fragment collection and should not be ignored during crime scene investigation.
