As a comprehensive periodical magazine of forensic science carried out in China, the journal of Forensic Science and Technology (FST) is responsible for creating a professional, open and shared academic communication platform, which has developed to one of the top forensic periodicals with longest history and most significant influence in China. The journal has always been adhering to the peer review system, abiding by and enforcing the academic ethics, advocating the integrity of scientific research, creating a healthy academic atmosphere, and preventing academic misconducts as well.

Editor’s obligations

1. Stick to the tenet of founding the journal, conform with the Core Practices stipulated by Committee of Publication Ethics (COPE, website address:https://publicationethics.org) to guide all the editorial activities and business.

2. Handle the manuscript timely, ensure the reviewing process is both fair and no conflict of interest with each article submitted.

3. Have all manuscripts tested through the Academic Misconduct Literature Check (AMLC), make the expert’s evaluation system be in improvement for guaranteeing both the quality of article and the academic level of the journal.

4. Once discovering any academic misconduct or other violation being involved, the editorial office has the liberty to reject the manuscript and notify related institutions and relevant journals.

Reviewer’s responsibilities

This journal of FST adopts the peer reviewing in a double-blind manner. Two or more experts with specific expertise will be invited to peruse each manuscript and give opinions for the manuscript to revise and accept or reject. The reviewers should adhere to the following requirements and regulations.

1. Strictly comply with the norms on examination of academic quality. Peruse the manuscripts objectively. Give definitive opinions on whether the manuscript meets the publication standards.

2. Keep confidential in the whole course of handling manuscript. Do not transmit, cite or use the manuscript or any involved contents without authorization.

3. Present reviewing comments within the planned time. Notify the editorial office in time for any delay to complete reviewing.

Author’s liabilities

1. Have the laws and/or regulations on copyright be tightly implemented. Make true contributions to the paper publication, and assume liability.

2. Ensure that the manuscript/paper is innovative, without any academic misconduct (e.g., fabrication, tampering, plagiarism, multiple submissions, repeated publications among others). Be pledged of no admission of either any inclusion that violates the Constitution of the People's Republic of China and other laws or the confidential content.

Copyright

The editorial office of FST is the copyright owner of every paper published in the FTS magazine. Once acceptance of their manuscripts, the authors will be notified to submit the Statement of academic norms and copyright transfer.

Access and Archiving

1. All the FST-publishing papers are available freely from the website at http://www.xsjs-cifs.com.

2. The editorial office of FST has authorized the online platforms of, e.g., CNKI, WANFANG Data, CQVIP, Chaoxing Periodical, to copy, distribute and disseminate the digital full text of the FST journal. FST is also included into the China Core Journal Alternative Database, China Academic Journal Network Publishing Database, Chinese Academic Journal (CD-Version), EBSCO and other databases, therefore capable of being retrieved of its published paper from the above-indicated databases.
