    Objective To study the application of DNA IQ Casework Sample Kit in MaxwellTM 16 Instrument for“touch” DNA extraction.Methods After 95℃direct lysis protocol。1 5 1“touch”DNA samples were extracted in MaxwellTM 1 6 by DNA IQ Casework Sample Kit.The DNA concentration。IPC CT and Success rate of STR typing were observed between PCR quantification and STR analysis.Results In 151“touch”DNA samples,the average DNA yields were more than 10ng,except the DNA from fruit-stones。which average yield was 9.51n_g.The SUCCESS rate of STR typing from cigarette butts is 93%,and the Success rate of STR typing from fruit—stones iS 60%.All DNA IPC CT was about 27.Conclusion The most of“touch”DNA samples could get enough DNA for STR typing by DNA IQ Casework Sample Kit in MaxwellTM 16 Instrument.

    Objective To distinguish paint of different vehicle make by analyzing resin of top-layer of vehicle paint. Method Top-layer paint samples of 356 vehicles collected from 15 vehicle makes in China were analyzed by ATR-FTIR.Results Among all paint samples,the frequency of occurrence of acrylic resin was the highest,and the frequency of occurrence of mela— mine resin was the lowest.Conclusion The ATR-FTIR analysis of top-layer paint was asimple and rapid method for distinguis— hing the vehicle paint.

    objective To evaluate the function of each chemical component in Oil Red O reagent.Methods Fingerprints were developed by Oil RedO reagents which contained different amount of sodium hydroxide,and then the results were compared. Results The color of fingerprints was linked with the color of Oil Red O powders,and sodium hydroxide was found to be very important to develop high-contrast fingerprints.Conclusion The Alexandre Beaudoin’S Oil Red O formulation was stable and effectual.

    Objective To explore the individual characteristics of stops’transiton cue and the values for speaker identifica— tion-Methods Mono-syllables composed of six stops and/i、a、u/in female Mandarin were selected for study.The starting and central frequencies of F2 and F3 of vowels were measured for statistical analysis.The lOCi of stops for each speaker are calculated. Results(1)The pattern of transition cues are different among speakers.(2)The discriminating power of speakers for each syl— lable varies:syllable/tu/shows higher discriminating power than other syllables and/kh u/shows the least discrimination rate. (3)F2 values of the three vowels in stop syllables are higher than their zero—initial syllables.The increasing extent of F2 for/i、 a/is greater than/u/.(4)The positions of loci are also different among speakers.Conclusion The power of different syllables for discriminating speakers should be addressed in speaker identification and the velar stop syllable should be avoided.The pattern of stop transition cue and the position of loci are useful acoustical parameters for speaker identification.

    A simple,sensitive HPL(、_ESHⅥS method was optimized for quantitative analysis of octahydro-1,3,5,7-tetrard— tro-I,3,5,7-tetrazocine(HMX).Under negative ionization mode,acetic acid was chosen as additive and the ion,[M+CH3 C(x)]一 was used for selective ion monitoring(SIM).Good sensitivity was achieved with lON acetic acid concentration in the mobile phase and relatively lOW capillary temperature.The optimal concentration of anunonium acetate in mobile phase was 0.05mmol/L~ 0.2mmol/L。and the limit of detection was 0.05 ng/mL for HMX in standard solution.

    Objective To introduce a method for developing latent fingerprints on paper by a natural material.Methods The fingerprints on paper were treated with lawsone reagent and then heated to 1500c for one hour.Results The latent fingerprint developed by lawsone exhibiting purple-brown eolour under the natural light and photoluminescence under light of 540nm,viewed through the red goggles.Conclusion This method is safe,environmental benign,and easy to operate.

    Objective To establish a simple,rapid,sensitive,accurate method for determining nail polish samples. Method With acetonitrile as the extraction agent,in acetonitrile/water(80:20),detection wavelength of UV-220nm,22 kinds of nail polish of different brands,produced in different places were analyzed by HPLC.Result Based on different components, nail polish can be divided into five categories.Samples in each category can be further identified according tO different ratios between chromatographic peak areas.Conclusion He method is simple,rapid,sensitive and accurate for identifying nail polish.

    Objective To study the frequency distribution and haplotypes of 17 Y_sTRs loci in Mongolian males popula— tion living in the Inner Mongolia and evaluate their forensic application.Method Venous blood samples of 184 unrelated Mongo— lian males lived in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region for at least three generations were collect.then DNA were extracted with Chelex-100 and 17 Y-STRs loci were amplified by using pCR amplification Kit,following analyzed by 3130一XL genetic analyzer. Result there were total 181 different haplotypes in the 184 unrelated Mongolian males,of which 178 were unique and three found in tWO individuals,the HD(haplotype diversity)was 0.9998,the GD(gene diversity)of the 17 Y-汀Rs ranged from 0.4326 (DYS391)to 0.9296(DYS385a/b).Conclusion The most of 17 Y-STRs lOCi were valuable in the application of Iorensic medi— cine and population genetics

    Objective To establish a GC/MS method for detecting rotenone in derris.Method Rotenone was extracted by chloroform in roots of derfis and analyzed by GC/MS.Result The nlass spectrum of sample was matched with rotenone in NIST MS library.Conclusion The method is simple,accurate,easy to use,and suitable for routine analysis.

    Recent research progress on fiber evidence examination is introduced in this paper.The contents of research progress involve the application of polarized light microscopy(PLM),fourier transforlTl infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),pyrolysis gas chromatography(PGC)。liquid chromatography--mass spectrometry(LC—MS)and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC). The author suggested that the more attention should be pay on development of fiber recovery methods and fiber database in the fu— ture.
