Objective To explore a new method for developing latent blood fingerprints with the water-soluble cadmium telluride quantum dots on various surfaces. Methods Blood fingerprints were treated with quantum dots in aqueous solution and fluorescence images were obtained under 365nm UV light. Results The develop time was less than other QDs methods reported before. Compared to TMB and acid black 10B, excellent improvement of image quality and sensitivity were also obtained. Conclusion The water-soluble cadmium telluride quantum dots method can be used to detect blood fingerprints on various surfaces.

Objective To discuss the result of DNA typing for a partial hydatidiform mole sample in a rape case. Methods An abortus tissue sample and the blood samples of the suspect and victim were analyzed by multiple STR typing with DNA TyperTM 15 kit. Results The STR genotype of this abortus tissue sample showed three peaks of which two comes from the suspect and the other comes from the victim. The result suggested that it's a partial hydatidiform mole which DNA comes from one egg and two sperms. Conclusion There are different hydatidiform moles that STR genotyping could determine the DNA resource and fertilization types. The STR genotyping results could also provide the proof of paternity testing and criminal case inquisition.

The fast recognition method of gasoline grades by transportable m-fast GC E-Nose is presented. It includes pretreatment, feature extraction and classification modeling. The experimental results showed that capabilities of recognition methods using principal component analysis (PCA) are quite good and the satisfied classification performance can be obtained through selecting proper PCA factors, so this method can be used in fast recognition of gasoline grades.

Fingerprints on non-porous and semi-porous surfaces were developed with fluorescent yellow wet-powder experimentally and the results showed that fingerprints on non-porous and semi-porous surfaces can be developed with good contrast and bright fluoresce. The fluorescent yellow wet-powder method is very effective for developing the latent perspiration, oil and blood fingerprints deposited on non-porous and semi-porous surfaces.

As an important dissociative anesthesia drug, ketamine was widely used in clinic field. Recently the problem of ketamine abuse as well as the drug-facilitated crimes is increasingly emerging. In order to provide the basis and research considerations, the distribution and postmortem redistribution of ketamine and the effect factors such as temperature, storage condition, multi-drug effect and interaction among adjacent tissues or organs were specifically demonstrated in this paper.
