Abstract

Objective To study the gender differences in fingerprint ridge density in the Chinese Han population.Methods Fingerprint ridge density of 40 male individuals and 40 female individuals of Chinese Han population were counted and analyzed by SPSS software.Results The mean ridge density of fingerprints of 40 male individuals was less than 14.5 ridges/25mm2 and the mean ridge density of fingerprints of 40 female individuals was more than 15 ridges/25mm2.Conclusion The significant gender differences occur in the finger ridge density.
