    The functions of polygraph examination (PE) were discussed and a new definition and explanations of the PE were formed based on the information theory. The new function of the PE focus to the psychoinformation (PI) from the examinee and t h e detail view concerned to initiative and passivity of the PI, examining time, e valuating examinee before PE, selecting criminal case conditions, forming questi ons, controlling pretest, analyzing PE purpose and associating with other tech n iques respectively. All the parts above were described with criminal investigati on and the direct effects of the new definition were demonstrated.

    Objective To set up the analysis methods of poison trace e lements in blood and urine. Methods Samples were p retreatment by microwave furnace and analyzed by inductively coupled plasmaato mic emission spect rometry (ICPAES) Results The precision and verac ity of the methods are accord w ith the criterion. Conclusion The shadiness poison trace elements in the liver, spleen and kidney could be detected by ICPAES.

    Objective To set up a method of detecting trace adhesives and the heat seal ing material for food packaging. Methods Adhesives and the heat sealing material for food packa g ing were examined by FTIR. Results Adhesives were succe ssfully detected in the samples. Conclusion The methods would help to find the cause of food poisoning and to find suspects in food poisoning cases.

    Objective To abtain the distribution of allele frequencies and haplo type of twelve Ychromosome STR loci of Han population in Henan and to evaluate its forensic applification. Methods DYS391、DYS389I、DYS4 39、DYS389II、DYS438、D YS437、DYS19、DYS392、DYS393、DYS390、DYS385 loci were applified by using PowerP lex(r)Y System,200 unrelated male individuals of han population in Henan were in vesti gated to detmine the distribution of allele frequencies and haplotype. Results 5、5、6、7、6、5、5、8、6、5 alleles were found in the pr eview ten YSTR loci,and 47 haplotypes were found in DYS385 locus. Conclusion The 12 YSTR loci are high ly polymorphic and are suitable for forensic individual identification and pater nity testing in Henan Province.

    Objective To develop a sensitive analytical method for the determinatio n of methamidophos and its isomer (O,Odimethylamidothiophosphate) in biologi cal issue. Methods Tandem mass spectrometry (GCMS/ MS) was applied to analyze meth amidophos and its isomer in biological issue. Results Mother ion at m/z 141 was selected and the voltage of 0.8 V was applied. The quite satisfaction daughter i ons and their spectra were obtained. When the amount of 50% methamidophos emulsi fiable solution injected is about 0.1ng, the ratios of singal to noise (S/N) for methamidophos and O,Odimethylamidothiophosphate are 436 and 773 respectively. T he detection limit of methamidophos is 20pg. Conclusion T he proposed method could raise the detection sensitivity of methamidophos.

    At present, denaturing highperformance liquid chromatography (DHPLC) is the best technique platform for detecting mutation. The principle and primar y technique characteristic of DHPLC were briefly introduced in this paper, also the application of DHPLC in forensic DNA analysis was summarized.
