Objective To explore the application of spectral imaging to forensic science. Methods The images obtained from the spectral imaging analysis were compared to the results of currently used techniques and methodology. Results The ideal photography was got with spectral imaging system. Conclusion The spectral imaging method proved to have significant capabilities and potential application in forensic science.

Objective To study the types and mechanism of injury of body surface by fingernail. Methods 434 fingernail injuries in 51 cases are collected and analyzed. The characters of these injuries in skin were studied with magnifier. Results 434 fingernail injuries have been divided into three fundamental types:168 strip scratche abrasions,153 patchy friction abrasions, and 113 arc friction contusions or wounds. Pathological morphological of injured skin are correlated with the structure of fingernail; strength, time of action force; flaccidity, Langer line of skin; later stage and so on. Conclusion To determine the type and mechanism of injury are useful for analysis of attempt of assault and determining the nature of case.

Objective To measure the plate glass refractive indices and find its changeable regularities after heat treatment. Methods sing DSC7 to measure the glass change temperature (Tg), heat the specimen to different degree (from room temperature to Tg up ) , after natural coolingoff, then using GRIM3 equipment to measure the refractive index. Results The effects of low temperature (below Tg) to glass refractive indices can been seen as zero, that of high temperature (above Tg) is very critical. Conclusion We must think over the effects of the temperature at scene when using the refractive indices to identify the glass recovered from fire scene. 

Ninhydrin is a regular fingerprint reagent, but when used to thermal paper the paper surface will turn dark grey or black thereby obscuring any fingerprints that may subsequentlybe developed. A few techniques have been found for developing fingerprints on thermal paper by improving the original reagent, such as 1,2Indandione solution,DMAC (dimethyl amino cinnam aldehyde) fumes , rinsing the thermal paper with an excess of acetone, thermalNin method.

Whole genome amplification is one kind of newstyle PCR in these years. It provided an approach that we can get genetic information from low copy number DNA and was an available tool to deal with trace sample evidence in forensic medicine. This article gives a review on whole genome amplification, including the species, principle and application prospect in forensic genetics.
