    Objective To establish a new method for estimating the type of the instrument which caused the trauma of the hair using Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope (ESEM). Method ESEM was used to image and analyze the morphological characterizations of the physical damaged hairs,which caused by different sharp or blunt instruments and with different manners. Results There was an obvious relationship between the morphological characterizations of breaking hair and the type of the tools, the sharp degree of the tools, and the manner of the damage. Conclusion ESEM allows imaging and analyzing the morphological characterizations of the breaking hairs in their real and natural state, so it offers a new method for estimation of the type of the instrument which caused the trauma of the hair.

    Object To observe the shape and size of drip bloodstain dropped in different heights, and with different speeds on nine kinds object. Method Anticoagulation blood was dropped in static or movable conditions. The diameter of bloodstain was measured. The data were analyzed by spss120 statistic software. Results In static conditions, the drip bloodstain was round with stings on edge. There were linear relationship between the diameter and height, which could deduce linear formula on seven kinds object. In walk, hurry walk, run and dash movable conditions, the drip bloodstain appeared as round or ellipse with stings on one side along direction of motion. Height or speed influenced the shape and size of drip bloodstain. Height and speed interacted on the shape and size of drip bloodstain on cement ground. Conclusion The analysis of shape and size of drip bloodstain were useful to estimate the heights of bleeding, speeds and directions of motion.

    Objective To analyse serious degraded DNA(fragment less than 300bp)and improve the success rate of detection. Methods Through redesign of the primer binding sites, each STR maker has been made as small as possible. Degraded DNA Samples were examed by uesing flourescent mini STR system. Results The reduction in size of these amplicons can facilitate the examination and analysis of degraded DNA evidence by improving amplification efficiency.Conclusion the fluorescent miniplex DNA typing forensic science system can be competent for DNA analysis. 

    The evaluation of uncertainty of measurement of alcohol in human blood by gas chromatography was proposed in this paper. Precision of the instrument,uncertainty of the certifical values of standard reference materials used in the measurement and the volume of samples and standard reference materials were considered as the main source of the combined uncertainty. Components of uncertainty and the combined uncertainty were deduced and calculated as the value of dispersal coefficients had been supposed to 1. The value of expressed uncertainty was verificated by measurement and thevalues of uncertainty evaluated by two methods tallied approximatively.

    Objective To explore the practical method of MSCT and postprocessing functions of fractures in forensic identification. Method 366 cases were examined by thin slice scanning with MSCT and diagnosed with MPR, seethrough and SSD method. The parameters and processing skills were summarized and analyzed. Results Slice thickness was 13 mm and reconstruction interval was 051mm. Of 366 SSD images, 4 cases of orbital fracture shown “phony hole” and some tiny fractures disappeared or displayed faintly. Articular surfaces were shown clearly in 21 cases after disassembled with software. 18 cases of old fracture were distinguished with seethough method and 326 cases were diagnosed correctly with MPR. Conclusion Fracture line can be revealed more exactly and vividly with single or combined method such as SSD, MPR etc. It could provide high quality images to forensic identification.

    This paper summarizes the characteristics and evolvement of hypothesis. As one of the methods from logic reasoning, hypothesis is applied to deduce the manner of death and disguise scene etc. We can often get twice the result with half the effort by this method. It shows that it is important to possess of technicians specific knowledge, but the rigorous logic ideation cant lack as well.

    With the development of mobile communication technology, the content data contained in mobile phones have become an important information resource for crime investigation. By using forensic tool and procedure to extract data from memory in SIM card, memory on board and flash memory card in handset, a lot of information included phone user's personal and identification information, content of communication, dialed recording and data written to the phone by user could be obtained. The information resulting from mobile phone analysis could show very high investigative value and evidence value, and therefore mobile phones become a new type object for forensic examination.

    Hair analysis have apecific advantages in the area of forensic drug analysis. It has been the normal work in drug examination in the forensic chemical laboratory of many countries. In addition, the result of hair analysis has been admitted and adopted by the count. This thesis has summarised four aspects of hair analysis such as the mechanism of drugs entering into hair, the crime scene search of hairs, the process of drug analysis of hairs and the result of drug analysis of hairs. Moreover, the thesis has introduced the way of collecting, packaging and submitting of the hairs, warnings in the processing and special technics of hair crime scene search. Besides, through analyzing the medical mechanism of drugs in hair,some methods of analysis drugs have been introduced. In the end, the characteristics of the result of drug analysis in hairs have been obtained in the thesis.
