    890 heroin samples seized from border area of China were analyzed by GC/MS and the relative ratio between different alkaloids were calculated, the results show that the ratio of alkaloids has pertinence with its original source.

    ObjectiveTo investigate the conditions of derivatization and to get a better derivative reagents of Amphetamines. MethodThree derivative reagents such as acetic anhydride, trifluoroacetic anhydride chloride and 3,5dinitrobenzoylchloride were selected, the derivatization conditions and results were investigated and compared by using GC. ResultQualitative and quantitative analysis conditions to this kind of drugs after acetic acetylation were setup. ConclusionThe regulation to the products and some quantitative parameters after derivatization by GC/FID were determined.

    In order to study and select new high polymorphic STR loci for human identity test, various STR loci were surveyed.As the result, DNATyperTM15 kit was developed. The kit allows simultaneous analyses of 15 genes including 11 CODISSTR loci, D3S1358,D5S818, D7S820, D8S1179, D13S317 D16S539, D18S51, D21S11, CSF1PO, FGA, vWA; three other STR loci Penta E, D6S1043,D2S1338 as well as a sex discriminating gene Amelogenin. 1160 blood samples of five ethnic groups(Han, She, Xibo, Chuang and Tibetan) were analyzed .Two of the 13 CODIS loci (TPOX and TH01)were not included because of their imbalanced allele distribution in Chinese population. D6S1043, which was not included in two most commonly used commercial STR analysis kits, was shown to be an excellent STR marker for Chinese. D2S1338 and Penta E loci are highly polymorphic. Their allele distributions do not depart from HardyWeinberg expectation (HWE). There is no significant difference among the five ethnic groups. All loci of DNATyperTM15kit meet HardyWeinberg expectation .The DNATyperTM15 is suitable for genetic test of human identity for Chinese population.

    Slugs from four types shotgun cartridge were analyzed by using Differential Scanning Calorimetry. Thermal parameters such as DSC curve, melting temperature and heat flow were compared. The results show that slugs from different type of shotgun cartridge can be identified by the thermal parameters.

    DNA contamination is an important factor in the investigation of a wrong DNA result. A forensic DNA laboratory should endeavor to solve this problem. There are three main sources of exogenous DNA:1)DNA from the analyst, 2)DNA from other samples in the lab, and 3)PCR products or fragments of the allelic ladder. They cause selfcontamination, crosscontamination and PCR contamination, respectively. To prevent contamination, separating operation regions, founding effective protocols and quality controlling of key reagents and consuming materials should be carried out. To monitor contamination, setting up control samples, checking the DNA results and establishing DNA elimination databases should be performed in a forensic laboratory.

    ObjectiveTo eliminate the residue backgrounds of images to enhance the interested parts. MethodAfter monochrome photographing, the RGB Channels of the picture were separated. ResultThe background can be better eliminated. ConclusionWhen the two methods used together, the result is improved.

    This article draw 100 samples of healthy male teenages of 13~18 years old randomly to initially compare the accuracy of single articulation skeleton age estimation ways. The accuracys of every method are different in different age.Before 1516 years old,the accuracy are higher of percentileway、CHNway、shoulder jointway、elbow jointway and wrist jointway. After 1516 years old, the accuracys are better of 6bigjoint、knee jointway、ankle jointway and hip jointway.

    This article attempts to demonstrate the potential benefits of employing external standard methodin forensic applications by comparing the results of using internal standard method and the external standard method in the detection of alcohol levels in blood samples. MethodDetecting the alcohol levels in 263 qualified blood samples collected from October 2005 to December 2006 by applying both external standard methodand internal standard method to each sample.ResultsThe external standard method took shorter time (2.5 minutes) and less volume (0.5ml) compared to 6.5 minutes and 1.0ml for internal standard method. The average blood alcohol density detected by external standard method was 89.30mg/100ml versus 92.37mg/100ml by internal standard method, p=0.001.ConclusionThe external standard method is the preferred filtering method for large scale blood samples in alcohol detection because it is faster, uses less blood volume and saves testing materials.

    Determining sequences of crossed writings and seal stamps is a difficult problem in the field of questioned document examination. By summing up thirtyeight literatures, the paper introduces eleven methods of determining the sequencing of crossed writings and seal stamps in common use nowadays. each method is reviewed and compared of its advantage and limitation, in order to help document examiners find out the most applicable ways in according to different conditions.
