In order to study and select new high polymorphic STR loci for human identity test, various STR loci were surveyed.As the result, DNATyperTM15 kit was developed. The kit allows simultaneous analyses of 15 genes including 11 CODISSTR loci, D3S1358,D5S818, D7S820, D8S1179, D13S317 D16S539, D18S51, D21S11, CSF1PO, FGA, vWA; three other STR loci Penta E, D6S1043,D2S1338 as well as a sex discriminating gene Amelogenin. 1160 blood samples of five ethnic groups(Han, She, Xibo, Chuang and Tibetan) were analyzed .Two of the 13 CODIS loci (TPOX and TH01)were not included because of their imbalanced allele distribution in Chinese population. D6S1043, which was not included in two most commonly used commercial STR analysis kits, was shown to be an excellent STR marker for Chinese. D2S1338 and Penta E loci are highly polymorphic. Their allele distributions do not depart from HardyWeinberg expectation (HWE). There is no significant difference among the five ethnic groups. All loci of DNATyperTM15kit meet HardyWeinberg expectation .The DNATyperTM15 is suitable for genetic test of human identity for Chinese population.
