Objective To establish a GC-MS method for analysis of hypnotics in urine. Methods Nine kinds of hypnotic in urine were extracted by magnetic nanoparticle solid-phase extraction and analyzed by GC-MS.Results The recoveries of hypnotics are from 60.5% to 89.5%. The detection limits of barbiturates are from 0.2 to 0.6μg/mL.Conclusion This method is simple and sensitive for simultaneous determination of hypnotics in urine.

In this paper, polymorphisms of 27 Y-STR Loci in Henna Han population was investigated. Results revealed that the HD (haplotype diversity) was 0.999995, the GD(gene diversity) of the 27 Y-STRs ranged from 0.3833(DYS391) to 0.9663 (DYS385).Therefore the most of 27 Y-STRs loci were valuable in the application of forensic medicine and population genetics.

14 samples of ecstasy seized in cases were analyzed by GC/MS. The main components of all samples were methamphetamine and caffeine, also a small amount of methamphetamine and ketamine were detected. The change of ecstasy composition reflects the new tendency of new type of synthetic drugs.

Objective To evaluate the genetic polymorphism and forensic application of 12 X-STR loci in Zhuang Population of Guangdong Province. Methods Allele frequencies for 12 X-STR 1oci in 200 unrelated Zhuang individuals (100 males and 100 females) were determined and the genetic parameters for forensic application were calculated. Results No deviation of the observed allele frequency from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium expectations was found. DXS10103 and DXS10101 were found to be in linkage disequilibrium. 143 alleles were observed and allele frequencies varied from 0.0033 to 0.6433. The polymorphism information content (PIC) varied from 0.3944 to 0.9159. The power of discrimination for male and female (DPm and DPf) ranged from 0.4815 to 0.9214 and from 0.6441 to 0.9884, respectively. The mean exclusion chance for duo and trio cases ranged from 0.2625 to 0.8501 (MECduo) and from 0.3944 to 0.9159 (MECtrio), respectively. The combined power of discrimination was 0.999999998 in males (CDPm) and 0.999999999 in females (CDPf), and the combined mean exclusion chance was 0.999998271 in duo cases (CMECduo),and 0.999999989 in trio cases (CMECtrio). Conclusion All of the 12 loci in Investigator Argus X-12 system showed highly polymorphic in Guangdong Zhuang population. This study of allele frequencies would serve as a reference basic data for personal identification and paternity testing.

Objective To investigate the 9bp deletion polymorphism of mitochondrial DNA region V in Han population living in Wuhan area. Methods Polymerase chain reaction and silver-staining were used to detect the frequencies of 9bp deletion polymorphism of mitochondrial DNA region V in Han people living in Wuhan area. Results Two types of polymorphism including standard type and deletion type were found in 239 unrelated individuals. The frequency of 9bp deletion is 17.15%.Conclusion There is the polymorphism of deletion in mitochondrial DNA region V in Han people living in Wuhan area.

Objective To establish a method for simultaneous determination of the butanone and methylbenzene. Methods 28 samples that were suspected to be precursor chemicals seized by Customs Service and standards of butanone and methylbenzene were analyzed qualitatively by GC/MS and analyzed quantitatively by HS-GC-FID.Results butanone and methylbenzene were determined in all 28 seized samples. The extraction recoveries were in the range of 84.3%~110.0%, RSD≤9.5%(n=6), and the limits of detection were 2.5 μg/mL and 1.5 μg/mL.Conclusion This method is suitable for analysis of butanone and methylbenzene in casework.

The handwriting samples of 80 pairs of twins were collected and analyzed with statistical method. The results showed that the writing level, word size, word shape, line space and writing speed are influenced largely by physiology, and the vertical long, turning angle, margin, typos, stroke, the proportion of stroke and the order of stroke are influenced largely by the environment. The author suggested that, in first-degree relatives of handwriting identification, attention should be paid to the special and strong characteristics of handwriting.
