  　Three hundred and twenty pairs of latent fingerprints on paper were developed using vacuum metal deposition and cyanoacrylate fuming respectively ．The results showed that vacuum metal deposition method was more effective for development of new and old sweat fingerprints on no‐porous surfaces

  Objective 　To find the optimal sampling region of groves for forensic DNA typing ．Methods 　The inner surface of groves was divided into different zones and for each zone ，DNA was extracted with chelex‐１００ and detected by PAGE ．Results 　The band density was different significantly among each zone in the inner surface of glove （P ＜ ０ ．０５） ，they were ranked in order of metacarpophalangeal joint of right hand ，hypothenar eminence of left hand ．Conclusion 　The gloves inner surface areas corresponding to metacarpophalangeal joint and hypothenar eminence of hand should been selected as the optimal sampling position for DNA typing

  The polymorphism distributions of seventeen dog gene loci ， DAmel 、PEZ１ 、PEZ２ 、PEZ３ 、PEZ５ 、PEZ６ 、 PEZ８ 、PEZ１２ 、PEZ１５ 、PEZ２０ 、PEZ２１ 、FH２０１０ 、FH２０５４ 、FH２０７９ 、FH２１３２ 、FH２６１１ and VWFX in Chinese police dog population were investigated using multiplex amplification and five‐color fluorescent technique ，expected gene frequency （P） ， heterozygosity （H） ，polymorphism information content （PIC） and probability of paternity exclusion （PE） were calculated by testing ２３１ dogs in １１ breeds ． Cumulated DP of sixteen STR loci was ０ ．９９９９９９９９２ and PE of sixteen STR loci was ０ ．９９５０２６ ．The parentages of ２３ dogs of ５ families in ３ breeds were identified with his method and the result showed that fivecolor kit can be used routely ．

  　Objective 　To develop an automatic DNA extraction method for peeled epithelia ．Methods 　２７８ peeled epithelia samples were extracted with Automated pipetting system epMotion^® ５０７５LH in combination with DNA IQTM ，and analyzed using Identifiler kit ．Results 　１２６ samples were genotyped at least １３ loci ．The probability of success is at the range of １０ ．８９％ to ７３ ．４４％ ．Conclusion 　Automated pipetting system epMotion^®５０７５ can be applied in DNA extraction for peeled epithelia samples ．

  Objective 　To develop a method for differentiating the Ecstasies from the compositions of dyestuff added in Ecstasy ．Methods 　68 kinds of red Ecstasy and 28 kinds of green Ecstasy were analyzed by high‐performance liquid chromatography ．Results 　The red Ecstasies were divided into seven groups and the green Ecstasies were divided into four groups by the com ‐ positions of the dyes ．Conclusion 　The method is sample and can be used for casework ．

  　Six kinds of synthetic fiber and terylene fibers collected from ten manufacturers were analyzed by using Differential Scanning Calorimetry ．The DSC curve and thermal parameters ，such as melting temperature and heat flow were compared ．The results showed six kinds of synthetic fiber can be identified by the DSC curves and ten terylene fibers can be identified by thermal parameters
