    In this paper, mechanism and laboratories of anti-counterfeit currency in Hong Kong were introduced. The difference in organization and operational mode between Chinese mainland and Hong Kong was compared. The author analyzes the problems about anti-counterfeit currency in China and gives some ideas of improvement.

    Objective To obtain genetics polymorphism data of 24 Y-STR loci of Han population in Hubei province.Methods 24 Y-STR of 320 fathers and their son were typered by using AGCU Y-STR amplification system and 3130XL Genetic Analysiser.Results 4 to 17 ladder alleles (at DYS391, DYS389, DYS439, DYS389 Ⅱ, DYS438, DYS449, DYS456, DYS458, DYS437, DYS635, DYS448, Y-GATA-H4, DYS447, DYS19, DYS392, DYS522, DYS393, DYS388, DYS390, DYS444)were found, 45 ladder alleles of DYS527a/b were found, and 57 ladder alleles of DYS385a/b were found. The lowest gene diversity was 0.3838, the highest gene diversity was 0.9650, 320 haplotypes were detected. 16 mutations in DYS449, DYS527, DYS444, DYS389 Ⅱ, DYS447, DYS522, DYS385, Y-GATA-H4 had been detected, the mutation rate was 1.5625‰~1.5653%, the average mutation rate was 2.0833‰, and the allele increase or allele decrease in the mutation was 1∶1. Conclusion Y haplotypes of 24 Y-STR of Han population in Hubei has abundant genetic polymorphism. It is of great significance for forensic applications, Y-STR database and population genetics research.

    Black powder was analyzed by raman spectroscopy. It is proved that the three components (potassium nitrate, sulfur and carbon) can be detected with Raman spectroscopy.

    Objective To explore the utilization of Radionuclide bone imaging for identifying new or old of nasal bone fracture.Methods Based on whole body radionuclide bone scan, bone CT and fusion imaging, 48 cases of nasal bone fracture had been studied on the distribution of radioactive and concentrating situation to decide new or old of nasal bone fracture.Results All the 48 cases of nasal bone fracture showed distribution of radioactive. Eight of them were assessed as minor injuried, which showed higher distribution of radioactive and were diagnosed as fresh fracture; forty did not showed higher distribution of radioactive and were diagnosed as old fracture which were supposed to have nothing with the trauma.Conclusion Whole body Radionuclide bone scan, bone CT and fusion imaging have a great value in deciding new or old of nasal bone fracture in forensic medical practice.

    Objective To establish qualitative and quantitative analysis methods of cathinone, methcathinone and mephedrone by LC-MS/MS.Methods Agilent 6460 LC/QQQ was used, samples were extracted with methanol and separated with Agilent Zorbax○R Eclipse Plus C18 column(100mm×2.1mm, 1.8μm), mobile phase was 0.1% FA and Acetonitrile, Gradient elution, the flow rate was 0.3mL/min, and the injection volume was 3 μ L. The concentration of cathinone, methcathinone and mephedrone were detected with multiple reactions monitoring (MRM) mode.Results Cathinone's linear range was 1-25000ng/mL, Methcathinone's linear range was 0.1-10000 ng/mL, and Mephedrone's linear range was 1-10000ng/mL.Conclusion This method is accurate and has high sensitivity for quantitative detection of cathinone, methcathinone and mephedrone.

    Objective To develop a rapid and non-destructive method for detecting K powder on paper surface.Methods Infrared image of K powder on paper surface was collected and corresponding infrared characteristic absorption peak was obtained.Results The existence of K powder on paper was evaluated according to the infrared spectrum of each component in image analyzed area and distribution information.Conclusion This method is non-destructive testing and can be used to detect K powder on paper surface rapidly.

    A metal detector for underwater evidence recovery was developed. The detector utilized the metal detection technology, underwater video acquisition technology and wireless transmission technology. The metallic objects at a maximum depth of 4m can be detected with this equipment.

    Objective To establish a method for correcting images aspect ratio of the THEMIS UV spectral imaging system and obtain the parameterβof the system.Methods Test pictures made with Adobe Photoshop were analyzed by THEMIS UV spectral imaging system. The difference of aspect ratio of images were measured and corrected with MATLAB.Results Based on differences between test pictures and images, the imaging defects and the parameterβwere obtained.Conclusion UV spectral image can be recovered to the original aspect ratio and the parameterβcan be used for recovering the original size of objects.

    Objective To investigate genetic polymorphism of 18 STR loci of the Han population in Xuancheng area. Methods Allele frequencies of 18 STR loci for 5000 unrelated Chinese individuals in Xuancheng area were determined with AmpFlSTR Identifiler kit and the values of genetic parameters for Forensic using were calculated. Results No deviations of the observed allele frequency from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium expectations were found for Chi-square test (P>0.05). 270 alleles and 1289 genotypes were observed. Allele frequencies varied between 0.0001 and 0.5260. 44 off ladder alleles (at 13 STR loci) were found. Observed heterozygosity (Ho) varied between 0.6238 and 0.9120,theoretical heterozygosity (He) varied between 0.6961 and 0.9601,polymorphic information content (PIC) varied between 0.5578 and 0.9126, total discrimination power (TDP) of 18 STR loci was 0.999 999 999 999 999 999 999 953,cumulative probability of paternity exclusion (CPE) for triplet cases was 0.999 999 993 487 306,CPE for fatherless or motherless cases(CPE*) was 0.985819169. Conclusion The results showed the 18 STR loci can be used for forensic personal identification and paternity testing.

    Automobile prime coat samples which have similar infrared spectra were analyzed by pyrolysis gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (Py-GC/MS) and the data were analyzed by software SPSS 19. The results showed that nine prime coat samples were categorized into 4 groups by Cluster Analysis, and combined with the results of IR, all nine samples were discriminated.
